Step into a love story that spans over a decade as new chapter unfolds in a timeless and enchanting celebration between Lynne Cowie and Frank Cooper at Meldrum House Hotel on a picturesque day in July 2023. Beautiful bride Lynne tells us all about their wonderful nuptials…
“After 14 years together, Frank chose the scenic backdrop of Hopeman Beach to propose to me, sealing our desire to take the plunge and tie the knot.
I knew I wanted to wear something sleek, elegant and timeless, and Angharad Bridal pulled it out the bag! I had a bespoke veil made to match, decorated with Swarovski crystals and pearls.
Frank chose the Eternity tartan for his kilt, featuring greys and browns that paired perfectly with our bridesmaids' smoky quartz gowns. But our daughters almost stole the show in their ivory satin and tulle flower girl gowns.
Meldrum House Hotel was the perfect setting for us – as soon as we arrived we were captivated. and the place was stunning. Our instant connection with the venue and the wonderful staff made it an easy choice, and we booked it in a heartbeat.
We loved that the large Titan dome could host a heartwarming pre-wedding dinner the evening before, which we enjoyed with our bridal party.
For the main event, the ballroom was adorned by Alison of North East Events and Neil Mellis gave a touching humanist ceremony that truly captured each of us beautifully. We’d added dried flowers (pampas, roses and greenery) as well as elegant hat-box centrepieces and a floral arch. And the gluten-free three-tiered cake, complete with edible pearls matching my veil, fit the theme perfectly.
On to the evening’s events and the Rococo Quartet and the mesmerising Lee from Phoenix Magic enthralled guests on the beautiful terrace during the drinks reception before dinner where the singing waiters kept everyone guessing.
The night ended with us all dancing to the tunes of The Big Papas and guests left their heartfelt wishes on an audio guestbook, which came complete with a funny pre-recorded message from us to them when they lifted the receiver!
Nikki and Aaron did a fantastic job of capturing the essence of our special day, blending both photographs and film to immortalise the memories for us. Aaron's drone footage captured breathtaking views of the venue while Nikki shot some adorable images of Meldrum's newest addition, a red highland calf.
Overall, the day was truly magical and I’d love to experience it exactly as it was all over again! Our advice to those planning their wedding would be to enjoy every single second. Don’t put pressure on yourself to make it perfect for your guests, just make it special for you both.
